In 2004 DISIPLIN’s self-titled debut reverberated across the globe. Receiving top reviews in all national Scandinavian newspapers, lifestyle and music magazines around Europe, the album turned out to be a hit with trend-setting specialist UK magazine, Metal Hammer that hailed the band as the ensemble ‘to look out for in 2004’.
Whilst on one side of the fence, album sales superseded everybody’s expectations, on the other, the Oslo quintet kept busy spreading their belligerent message on stage and planning their next move – ‘Anti-Life’.
General K, changing his moniker to Drakul 218 created 11 groove-laden tracks blending elements from thrash and black metal.
Recorded at the illustrious Akkerhaugen studios in Telemark and mixed at Frederik Nordström’s Studio Fredman in Gothenburg (ZYKLON, OPETH, IN FLAMES), ‘Anti-Life’ unleashes the majestic feeling that only works bearing strong productions can emanate at first listen. The album title track has also been made into a video that, directed by world established photographer, Marcel Lelienhof, shot to number one in the most requested videos on Norwegian metal show, ‘Svisj’ on the night it premiered on the programme (8th February 2005) and it stayed on that spot for the next two weeks.
On March, 14th 2005, ‘Anti-Life’ will be released worldwide, quenching the thirst of the eclectic crowd that burned for the band’s debut and have panted for more ever since. Still refreshingly original in a scene that keeps reinventing the wheel, ‘Anti-Life’ is further proof that DISIPLIN have what it takes to become the next big thing within the genre.
